Γνωστό και ως ‘ενεργός άνθρακας’, το προϊόν αυτό φιλτράρει κάθε επιβλαβές χημικό, μούχλα και άλλα που κανένας δεν τα θέλει σε ένα μείγμα για φυτά εσωτερικού χώρου ή ένα τεράριουμ.

Αναμιγνύεται στο χώμα που θα χρησιμοποιηθεί για φύτευση φυτών ή προστίθεται σε τεράριουμ πάνω από το υλικό αποστράγγισης.

• Αποτρέπει το σχηματισμό μούχλας και προστατεύει από σάπισμα και μύκητες στις ρίζες των φυτών.
• Αποτρέπει τις άσχημες οσμές σε φυτά, τεράριουμ ή ακουάριουμ.

Τα πλεονεκτήματα του activated carbon σε φυτά

Προσθέτοντας το στο χώμα, προστατεύει τις ρίζες των φυτών από έντομα και μούχλα. Επιπλέον δημιουργεί καλύτερη δομή στο χώμα με καλύτερο αερισμό, αποτρέποντας την υπερβολική υγρασία.

Τα πλεονεκτήματα του activated carbon σε τεράριουμ

Χρησιμοποιείται πάνω από τα υλικά αποστράγγισης καθώς και μέσα στο μείγμα χώματος. Σε πολλαπλά τεστ με ίδια τεράριουμ, σε αυτά που είχε προστεθεί activated carbon, η διαφορά στη μείωση της μούχλας ήταν εξαιρετικά μεγάλη.

Οδηγίες χρήσης:

Προσθέστε 10% προϊόν στο μείγμα χώματος κατά τη μεταφύτευση. (Όλα τα Premium χώματα που διαθέτουμε περιέχουν ήδη activated carbon).

Για τεράριουμ: Προσθέστε ένα στρώμα από το προϊόν πάνω από το υλικό αποστράγγισης και κάτω από το χώμα φύτευσης. Έτσι σε κάθε κύκλο ποτίσματος το νερό θα περνάει από το στρώμα με το carbon.

Activated carbon pellets (also known as activated charcoal) filter out any harmful chemicals, metals, mould and other nasty things you don't want in your terrarium or houseplant soil. Add it just above the drainage layer of your terrarium or mix it into your plant soil to filter out the bad stuff.

The carbon also works great in aquarium filtration. They come in convenient and resealable bags.

The benefits of activated carbon for terrariums

By adding activated carbon to the soil you are protecting the root system against possible pests & moulds. While it isn’t 100% protection, it does offer an extra safety barrier. It also creates a more gritty & airy texture preventing too much moisture in the soil.

The benefits of activated carbon for plants

In terrariums we add activated carbon both in the soil mix and the drainage layer, this way the water is being pushed through the charcoal every “cycle”, maximizing its effects. We have done many tests on identical terrariums with the only difference being the addition of carbon, and the reduction of mould growth is insane. 

What makes carbon “activated"?

By treating regular carbon/charcoal with high temperatures, they expand. This creates lots of tiny air pockets. These pockets create the basis for the adsorption potential of the carbon, making it about 100x more effective (more surface area) than regular charcoal. 

How to use activated carbon

Activated carbon for plants
Add activated carbon to your soil (our SYBASoil already has this added) and mix it in. Both pellets and powder work great for this. Shoot for about 10% of the total soil volume. 

Activated carbon for terrariums
Add a layer of activated carbon above the drainage layer and beneath the soil layer. The water will pass through the layer on each water cycle.
